Whether you are planning to study in Singapore from Malaysia or based elsewhere, we help you understand the options, meet the requirements, and apply to the right institution.

Why Study in Singapore?

Top-Ranked Universities

NUS ranked 8th, NTU ranked 12th globally

QS World University Rankings 2026. Two of Asia's best universities are right next door — offering world-class teaching and research at a fraction of the cost of the UK or US.

English-Medium Instruction

No language barrier for Malaysian students

All programmes are taught in English. Malaysian students adapt quickly, and the cultural proximity means families stay connected without the distance of the UK, Australia, or the US

Strong Graduate Outcomes

88.9% employed within six months

Median starting salary of SGD 4,500 (Graduate Employment Survey 2025). Singapore's tight labour market and strong industry links mean graduates move into professional roles quickly.

Gateway to Asia's Job Market

Singapore is a global hub for finance, tech, and trade

Graduates access career opportunities across Southeast Asia's most dynamic economy. For Malaysian students, it's the fastest route to international career exposure without going far from home.

Tuition Fees, Living Costs, and the MOE Tuition Grant

With MOE Tuition Grant (ASEAN) Without Grant
Annual tuition SGD 14,000 – 30,000 SGD 33,000 – 47,000+
Living expenses SGD 10,000 – 18,000/year SGD 10,000 – 18,000/year

Professional programmes (medicine, dentistry, law) sit at the higher end. On-campus housing: SGD 400–600/month. Off-campus rentals: SGD 900–2,000/month.

  • The Singapore Government subsidises tuition by 40% to 60% for eligible international students, including Malaysians. In return, recipients commit to working in Singapore for three years after graduation.

For many families, this is an advantage. It guarantees career experience in one of Asia's strongest job markets. Students who prefer not to take the grant pay non-subsidised fees with no bond obligation.

  • Each university offers scholarship schemes covering partial or full tuition. Applications are competitive and should be submitted alongside the university application. We help families assess which financing options fit their situation during the consultation.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most from Malaysian and Asian families exploring university options in Singapore.

  • Yes. All six autonomous universities — NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, SIT, and SUSS — accept applications from Malaysian students. However, each university has different entry requirements, and some courses have specific prerequisites. We help you identify which universities and programmes match your academic profile.

  • It depends on the university. Some waive the English proficiency requirement for students who completed their secondary education in English. Others require a valid IELTS or TOEFL score regardless. We confirm the exact requirement for each course you're targeting so there are no surprises.

  • The Ministry of Education (MOE) Tuition Grant subsidises 40% to 60% of tuition fees for eligible international students, including ASEAN nationals. In return, you commit to working in Singapore for three years after graduation. Most Malaysian students are eligible, but the grant is not automatic — you must apply and meet the university's criteria.

  • Ideally, 12 to 18 months before the intake. Most applications open in October–November for the following August intake. Starting early gives you time to prepare for admissions tests, gather documents, write personal statements, and target the right English proficiency score. We recommend booking a consultation as early as possible.

  • With the MOE Tuition Grant, annual tuition ranges from SGD 14,000 to SGD 30,000 depending on the programme. Without the grant, fees range from SGD 33,000 to SGD 47,000+. Living expenses typically add SGD 10,000 to SGD 18,000 per year. Professional programmes like medicine and law sit at the higher end.

  • Some Singapore universities accept the UEC, but acceptance varies by university and course. It's important to check the specific entry requirements for your target programme. We track which courses accept UEC and what supplementary qualifications may be needed.

  • No. The first 45-minute consultation is free. We use this session to assess your profile, understand your goals, and outline a realistic plan. There is no obligation to proceed after the consultation.
